How does Satellite PE differ from other Transit
products, such as Workstation?
Satellite PE was designed as a very compact archive, so that it could be downloaded anywhere in the world.Consequently, some of the options used and appreciated by those familiar with Transit are not included in this product, in order to reduce its size and widen its use among freelancers.
Another reason to reduce the available options is so that the learning curve for beginners with Transit is kept short.
The end result of the development work is a practical, tough product, with a limited number of facilities.
Satellite PE is very similar to Transit
Workstation, but with some limitations:

It is not possible to show and hide text segments in the Transit editor using filters, that is, only segments to be translated, only partially-translated segments, etc. |

It is not possible to load or edit several archives from one translation project in a single Transit editor window. |

Only three dictionaries can be used at any one time. |

The Transit Satellite PE cannot be used with voice recognition tools. |

Transit's spellcheckers can be obtained separately. |
Naturally, in order to put this information into context, it should be remembered that many of these options are not available in other products, not even in the more advanced versions.
