Transit offers translators the option of working in the
same environment, independently of the type of project and
format of the archive. The Transit editor is light (compared
to text processors and automatic editing programmes). Occupies
only essential space. Only includes tools needed for translation.
Using the same environment every day, the translators become used to it, and their productivity increases, rather than changing from one editor to another.
The same editor is used not just for editing translatable archives, but also
to:

Edit data in the translation memory (whose archive format is identical to that of the working archives). |

Perform alignments. |
Thus the same editing environment is used, without conversions, for any activity performed during the translation project.
The Transit
editor displays up to five windows:

Two windows for the bilingual language pairs: source and target languages. |

The associative network (fuzzy matches). |

A dictionary (terminology). |

A notebook. |
The text is displayed on screen in WYSIWYG to make it easier to work.
