Configuration of the project
In order to optimise the system to meet your needs, you first have to define the specific configuration in Transit that you want to apply to the translation project. A Transit assistant guides you step by step through the following options:

Management of user access: defines which user or group of users can have access to the project. |

Selecting target languages: select as many languages as you need for the project. |

Selecting the archives to be imported: import individual archives, or assign all archives from selected directories and sub-directories. |

Selecting the type of archive you want to import: define the filter Transit will use for the import. |

Use of reference material (translation memory): applies to all texts translated with Transit (whatever the format of the original archive) or texts converted to Transit format with the alignment tool. |

Definition of segmentation criteria: automatic division of the text into segments (small sections) which may be by sentences, table cells, paragraphs, etc. |

Definition of pre-translation: specifies the parameters Transit must use when doing the pre-translation. Enters the minimum match level between the reference text and original archive, so that Transit can perform the pre-translation. |

Assigning dictionaries to the project (TermStar): selects the dictionaries it needs. Transit will simultaneously open all the dictionaries associated with the project. |

Assigning names to the translation archives: manages the name of the translation archive, without overwriting the original name of the archives. |
Normally, project definitions can be used again in subsequent projects, and this step does not have to be repeated, although the translator has the last word in this respect. Next step: import original documents.
