April showers bring May flowers

It's been worth the wait. The new Service Pack 9 for STAR's computer assisted translation tool Transit NXT brings a host of new features and improvements. Here is a summary of all the new items:

• Working languages: Eight additional languages and language variants
• Transit Editor: Additional information in the status bar | Fuzzy matches and MT suggestions cleverly combined
• Project management: Even easier integration of STAR MT | Cross-project multidirectional translation memory | Process project packages from MemoQ
• Quality assurance: Check for translation and source variants
• Additional file types supported: Office 2016 | InDesign CC 2015 | FrameMaker 2015 | AutoCAD 2013 to 2016
• Terminology: Additional type of cross-references | Enhanced data model | Multimedia data storage in databases
• Translation Memory: Additional functions for TM maintenance in the file system | Additional options in the TM Container
• System integration: Support for additional databases and operating systems | Enhanced command line interface in the CMD version

The current user documentation can be found on the STAR Group website (www.star-group.net) in the "Download | Transit & TermStar NXT | User Documentation" area.

Downloading the Service Pack

The Service Pack contains Transit, TermStar and WebTransit and includes all previous Service Packs. In order to download it, you'll need a password:

Installing the Service Pack

The Service Pack updates your installed version of Transit/TermStar. Your data (projects, dictionaries and user-specific settings, etc.) remains intact. It is neither a good idea nor necessary to uninstall Transit/TermStar.

1) Close Transit/TermStar before installing the Service Pack.

2) Unpack the downloaded "transitnxt_SP9.zip" file.

3) Double-click on the "inst_transitnxt.exe" file to start the installation.

4) Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
