What's all this fuzz about?

Webinar about Transit's fuzzy matching technology and how you as a translator can use it to boost your productivity and achieve higher consistency in your translations.

What's all this fuzz about? (Please keep on reading!)

Approximate string matching or "fuzzy matching" is the technique of finding character strings that match another character string approximately rather than exactly. To establish the fuzzy match percentage, i.e. the difference between two strings, the so-called "Levenshtein distance" is used, a metric that counts the number of primitive operations (insertion, deletion and substitution) which are necessary to match one string exactly to the other. But as interesting and highly intriguing this may be, the next STAR Campus webinar is not about problem formulations and algorithms, but rather teaches you how to use fuzzy matching in Transit NXT in your daily work to boost your productivity.

How fuzzy do you precisely want it to be?

In Transit NXT, you can establish a precise threshold for your fuzzy matching! Because depending on your source language, the text type and its characteristics you might want to have it a bit fuzzier or less. But that’s only one of the many many options that you can use to finely tune Transit’s fuzzy matching feature to your needs. You can even search for fuzzy matches in the target language (dual fuzzy) or automatically carry out concordance searches if the fuzzy search does not come up with the desired result. Want to know more? Then stop fuzzing about, check out the webinar and learn all about fuzzy matching in Transit NXT.
