Revising with the internal repetitions mode
Sometimes, a project has to be split up between several translators so as to be able to meet the deadline, with the result that internal repetitions might be translated inconsistently by different translators. Transit's Internal Repetition Revision Mode enables you to solve that problem by revising all repeated ocurrences of segments throughout the entire publication.
Maximize TM leverage - Pretranslate without source files
Did you know that you can re-import and pretranslate files in Transit NXT without the original files? It is one of many unique features in Transit and it allows you to maximize the leverage of your translation memory. This tool tip will show you how to go about it and what to watch out for. When might it make sense to re-import? Imagine you have received a Transit Project Package File (PPF) from a Multilingual Language Vendor client of yours.
Assuring quality: terminology check
Terms form the conceptual skeleton of a technical publication. Their correct use is vital for the understanding of a technical text. Likewise, correct and consistent use of the right target-language terminology is one of the corner stones of a good technical translation. But even if terminological dictionaries were used during a translation project, terminological errors or inconsistencies might still occur.

Assuring quality: spell checking
Whether you are a translator, a reviewer, or a project manager, you might need to run some automatic quality assurance (QA) checks on the translation after it is completed. Transit NXT performs three kinds of QA: spelling check, terminology check and various format checks. Even if the translation has been carried out very carefully it is advisable to run the QA checks, just to be sure that no errors have slipped through.
Using colour to distinguish text according to status in the exported files

Compacting reference material
Language pairs created during translation in Transit NXT can be used as reference material for future projects. It is a good idea to store the language pairs from previous projects in a single centralized folder, so that you just add that folder as reference material in new projects. Depending on your workflow and volume, this reference material will grow with time, perhaps too much, but there's something we can do to reduce its size.
Including terminology in language variants when packing projects
Welcome to a new tooltip about Transit NXT. This one is specially addressed to project managers, who are the ones likely to be confronted with the issue explained here. Let's say you have a new project, to translate some documents from American English into Spanish, but the available dictionaries contain term pairs in British English and Spanish only (or in the main). That should not be a problem, you might think, and indeed it should not be in practice but as long as you know what to do.
